Banff gondola and Radium Hot Springs

11th august

Touristy bits today. Drove back from Radium Hot Springs to Banff and went to the Banff Gondola. Relived many Tricia and Cathy moments, including meeting the mirrored bear at the top.

The gondola takes you to the top of Sulphur mountain, where you can then admire the views, learn about why there is a weather station there, watch some impressive videos and buy tourist tat. We did all of the above, as well as walking the 500 + steps further to the weather station itself (what is the human need to be on the highest point?).

Great views, and educational opportunities to show Alana glacial and river valleys, and the difference between them. 😉

Quick stop at Canada’s second highest Starbucks (highest in winter!), then drove back to Radium Hot Springs to go in the hot springs. It was an amazing experience - the water temperature was 39C and it was like being in a bath, but this one has added minerals to make you feel amazing! There were dragonflies zooming above, and at least 100 people having a Friday evening wallow. Just perfect.

Quick shower then back to the motel for takeaway pizzas and sleeeeeep.

Adventure score: 6/10

A full day in Prague

Blimey, did we sleep well? Littlun and I got up and went for a little run to explore a bit more and visit the rather excellent-looking baker...
