Lazy day

We woke late this morning - still got quite a bit of catching up to do from the train trip. It sounded a lot like rain outside but I think it was either a bear tap-dancing lightly on the cabin roof or the wind in the trees… being Canada it could easily be either!

Because we could, we cranked up the old tv and dvd player in the cabin and watched Ice Age while eating breakfast. Then borrowed a kayak from the next door cabin (they’d said it was ok), chucked both that kayak and the one designated for our cabin in the back of the truck (!) and drove round Grand Marais trying to find a decent launch site. We ended up looking at a lot of really nice-looking new cabins and many many really run down old places including some amazing cabin-style hotels that haven’t been updated in at least 50 years. And then got back to the first beach that Alana and I had swum to yesterday, just a short walk from our cabin!

Took the kayaks down to the water and launched them successfully. We only had two kayaks, so first Alana and I had a go, while Kathy was on shore watch, then K and I swapped. Then swapped again. It was really windy so hard going against the wind, but absolutely no effort with the wind at your back.

We had some lunch at the beach and then just chilled and watched the chipmunks and the storms on the horizon. Then obvs it was time for ice cream again…

Then back to the cabin for some more chill out time, then we went to play crazy golf.

Quite bizarrely, the crazy golf is the only place in town that sells beer, and only for consumption while you play! It would have been rude not to 😊

Then back to the chateau for supper before catching the sunset again.

A full day in Prague

Blimey, did we sleep well? Littlun and I got up and went for a little run to explore a bit more and visit the rather excellent-looking baker...
